Optibet review: Latvia's home-grown giant, now backed by Entain

Optibet is the brand I would point most Latvian players to first. The welcome bonus is not the biggest, but the lobby is the largest on the licensed market, the poker side is genuine, and its own-branded live tables give it something nobody else here has.

A Latvian brand since 1999, now part of Entain

Optibet is about as local as online gambling in Latvia gets. The brand dates back to 1999, grew up in the Baltics, and became part of Enlabs, which in turn has belonged to the Entain group since 2021. That means a home-grown name with the compliance and technology budget of one of the largest betting groups in Europe behind it.

The Latvian operator is SIA Optibet, licence numbers A-66 and TI-01. These are what players still call IAUI licences; since April 2026 the IAUI has been merged into VID, the State Revenue Service, which now issues licences and maintains the list of permitted operators. In practice that means verified accounts, terms under Latvian law and a domestic regulator if anything goes wrong with a payout.

You will also see the name on ice and on court: Optibet is the sponsor name of hockey and basketball leagues in the Baltics. If you want another view of the same operator, the detailed Optibet review on latvijas-kazino.eu is worth a look.

€300 plus 100 spins: a modest bonus that is easy to size

New players get a 100% match up to €300 plus 100 free spins, from a minimum deposit of €10. Compared with the €500 offers at Tonybet and X3000, it looks modest. I don't see that as a real weakness.

The wagering is 35x. On the full €300 bonus that is €10,500 in turnover. The terms define whether the multiple applies to the bonus alone or to deposit plus bonus, and the second reading doubles the target, so it is the first line I would check.

Run the numbers at a normal deposit and the offer is perfectly reasonable: €50 in bonus means €1,750 of bets, €100 means €3,500. A smaller ceiling at the same 35x is, if anything, easier to use in full than a €500 bonus you will never realistically clear. My advice is simply to match the bonus to what you would deposit anyway.

As usual, slots tend to contribute fully towards wagering while table and live games count for less, and there is a max bet rule while the bonus is active. If the terminology is unfamiliar, our explainer on casino bonus wagering covers it.

The biggest licensed lobby, plus Optibet's own live tables

This is where Optibet earns its ranking. The lobby lists 2,800+ slots, 90+ table games, 140+ live dealer tables and 55+ jackpot games. Each of those figures is the highest among the Latvian-licensed casinos I cover.

The live casino has a detail I like. In October 2025 Optibet launched its own-branded blackjack and roulette live tables, built with Stakelogic, for players in Latvia and Estonia. Most operators simply rent the same studio tables as everyone else; having dedicated tables is a sign of a brand that treats the Baltic market as home rather than as one more country in a dropdown.

With that many slots, the risk is not running out of things to play but losing track of them. For me the jackpot section, the largest on the licensed market, is the part most worth browsing on its own, and the extra table games give non-slot players more than the usual handful of options.

Sportsbook and a separate poker app

Optibet is a full betting operator, not a casino with a sports tab. The sportsbook sits next to the casino in the same account, and the hockey and basketball sponsorships tell you where its natural strengths in the Baltics lie.

Poker gets more attention here than almost anywhere else in Latvia. Only Tonybet and OlyBet also run poker among the licensed operators, and Optibet goes a step further with a separate iOS poker app next to its main betting and casino app. For a regular poker player that separation is a plus: a dedicated client instead of a poker lobby squeezed into a casino menu.

Paying in and cashing out

Optibet supports the methods Latvian players expect: Trustly, bank link payments from Swedbank, SEB, Citadele and Luminor, Visa and Mastercard, and e-wallets such as Skrill and Neteller. The minimum deposit is €10.

Withdrawals via Trustly are stated at under 6 hours, which puts Optibet level with Tonybet and behind only X3000 on the licensed market. As with any Latvian-licensed site, your identity has to be verified before the first payout, so I would complete the checks straight after registration rather than at the moment you want to withdraw. Other methods may be slower than Trustly.

Our guide to payment methods at Latvian casinos compares Trustly, cards and the alternatives side by side.

Two iOS apps and a mobile site

On mobile, Optibet offers iOS apps: one for betting and casino, and the separate poker app mentioned above. The site also works in a mobile browser for anyone not on an iPhone.

For me, splitting poker into its own app is the sensible choice. Casino and sports suit quick sessions; poker is a different rhythm, and it benefits from its own client.

Optibet versus X3000, Tonybet and Laimz

The only casino I rate higher is X3000. It offers a bigger €500 bonus, 200 free spins and payouts under 4 hours; our X3000 casino review explains why it edges the top spot. Optibet beats it clearly on game count and on poker.

Against Tonybet, the comparison is close: both cover casino, sports and poker, both pay out via Trustly in under 6 hours. Tonybet's bonus is bigger, Optibet's lobby is bigger. Our full Tonybet review sets out the differences.

The interesting family comparison is Laimz, which Enlabs launched in 2020 as its first in-house brand. It is the lighter, casino-and-bingo sibling, with 30x wagering and a €5 minimum deposit. If you want a big all-round operator, Optibet; if you want simpler casino play with softer wagering, look at our Laimz casino review.

Pros

  • Largest licensed lobby: 2,800+ slots and 140+ live tables
  • Own-branded blackjack and roulette live tables
  • Poker with a dedicated iOS app
  • Trustly withdrawals stated at under 6 hours
  • Latvian brand since 1999, backed by Entain

Cons

  • €300 bonus is smaller than Tonybet's or X3000's
  • 35x wagering, not the 30x of Laimz or Betsafe
  • So many games that browsing can feel overwhelming

My verdict

I give Optibet 9.4/10, second only to X3000 in our list. It has the biggest game lobby on the Latvian licensed market, its own live tables, a proper sportsbook and a poker product with its own app. Trustly withdrawals under six hours and more than two decades of local history complete a very strong case.

The bonus is the one area where it doesn't lead, and I don't think that matters much: €300 at 35x is a target a normal player can actually reach. If I had to recommend a single licensed site to someone who wants everything in one place, it would be Optibet. The wider ranking of Latvian online casinos shows how it compares with the rest.

Optibet: 9.4 out of 10
