About Mārtiņš

I am Mārtiņš, a Riga-based writer covering the Latvian online casino market. On this site I review the sixteen casinos that Latvian players most often choose between, twelve licensed in Latvia and four foreign sites, and write guides on the topics that decide whether a casino is worth using.

My focus is on the things a player can check and compare: who holds the licence, what a bonus really costs in wagering, how fast an operator says it pays out, how large and varied the game library is, whether there is an app, and who stands behind the brand. I follow the regulatory side as well, from the merger of the IAUI into VID in April 2026 to the VID blocked list and the rules on tax and self-exclusion.

Every casino gets a score out of 10 built from six criteria: licence, bonus value, payout speed, games, mobile and the operator's track record. I like to do the arithmetic for the reader, so bonus value is measured as turnover per euro of bonus rather than by the headline figure.

My reviews are based on the operators' published terms and conditions, the VID list of licensed gambling operators and the information the operators themselves publish. When those terms change, the reviews and scores change with them. My opinions are my own and are stated as opinions.
